ATLANTA — A legislative committee tasked with developing recommendations for Georgia’s next statewide election system will hold its first meeting Friday at the State Capitol.
The Joint Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 in Room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. The meeting will be livestreamed.
The committee was created during the 2026 special legislative session through Senate Bill 3EX. It is charged with evaluating specifications and requirements for election equipment using hand-marked paper ballots produced through ballot-on-demand printing.
The organizational meeting will include a presentation from the Georgia Department of Administrative Services about state procurement.
State Rep. Victor Anderson, R-Cornelia, and state Sen. Max Burns, R-Sylvania, serve as co-chairmen.
