ATLANTA — Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson said he will join President Donald Trump at an event Wednesday in Cobb County, further emphasizing the close political alliance he has made central to his campaign.
Jackson has repeatedly said he wants to be “Trump’s favorite governor” and has described himself as “Trump with a Southern tone.” He has also said he would govern like Trump and donated $1 million to Trump in December 2025.
Georgia Democrats criticized the planned appearance, arguing that Jackson has embraced Trump’s policies and election claims.
