Road dedication ceremony to honor former Georgia lawmaker Roger Bruce

State Rep. Debra Bazemore, D-South Fulton, will host a ceremony Saturday to dedicate a Fulton County intersection in honor of former state Rep. Roger Bruce, a longtime South Fulton community leader and former member of the Georgia House of Representatives.

The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at 5695 Fulton Industrial Blvd. S.W. in Atlanta. State Rep. Mekyah McQueen, D-Smyrna, and Carmalitha Gumbs, mayor of the City of South Fulton, are expected to participate.

The dedication follows the passage of a resolution naming the intersection of State Route 6, also known as Camp Creek Parkway, and State Route 70, also known as Fulton Industrial Boulevard S.W., as the State Representative Roger Bruce Intersection.

The designation recognizes Bruce's service to the state and the South Fulton community during his tenure in the Georgia General Assembly.
